At the moment we're looking for a Business Development Executive - Conference and Events to join our energetic, enthusiastic and passionate team at InterContinental Hotels GroupÂ® Dubai Festival City .
This role, reports directly to the Director of Conferences and Events , InterContinental Hotels and as the Business Development Executive - Conference and Events, you will be mainly responsible for planning, organizing and executing all kinds of Non Residential events within the hotel. The Events Manager provides the 'one-stop-shop' concept for all events for the Event Operations Department to obtain maximum guest satisfaction.
The key responsibilities are:
â¢ To negotiate and organize client non-residential events following the MICE Conversion SOP's to ensure consistency and quality is provided at all times (40%):
â¢ To negotiate with the client in a professional and seamless manner keeping in mind a win-win attitude for both the client and the Hotel.
â¢ To ensure that he/she has a full understanding of all event requirements
â¢ Produce a complete BEO to be utilized by all operating departments
â¢ Accurate and complete entry of all necessary information in Delphi, should have a complete and thorough understanding of Delphi and its properties.
â¢ To support financial goals of the hotel through upselling, proper use of the hotel products and packages and cost of control (30%).
â¢ To contribute to an atmosphere of open and efficient communication by (20%);
â¢ Ensuring accuracy in all communication documents such as BEO, Change logs and latest updates
â¢ Attending internal meetings such as morning briefing, BEO/GIS meeting.
â¢ Understand through open communication and good rapport where Events Operations supports Event Sales as well as other internal stake holders.
â¢ To maintain a positive attitude at all times and be involved with hotel activities and initiatives (10%). <br><br> Required Skills/Qualifications
â¢ Customer driven, meticulous; has high attention to details
â¢ Good team player and eager to grow and further develop in own career
â¢ Excellent all-round communication (telephone, email, face to face etc.)
â¢ High level of common sense and skills of problem solving and making decisions
â¢ Delphi experience
â¢ Minimum 1 year experience in a similar capacity of a 5* hotel or the MICE industry with F&B Operations environment. Qualifications
â¢ Bachelor from a university or hotel school preferably in Sales & Marketing or tourism/hotel management
â¢ Proficient in oral and written English and preferably a 2 nd language
