SNR BUSINESS STRATEGY SPECIALIST ALIGNING ASSETS - Qatar
Natural Resources are seeking to recruit a SENIOR BUSINESS STRATEGY SPECIALIST who will be based in Qatar on a long term residential contract working in our client’s Portfolio Assessment & Economic Evaluation Department
Aligning client’s Asset Portfolio of; Upstream, Downstream and Petrochemical business segments to the client’s Corporate and Business strategy direction.
Design, update and report on key strategic features, based on multi-dimension analyses, such as: *Upstream: asset maturity (e.g. exploration, development, plateau or declining production), oil and gas mix, geographical footprint, customer reach, risk profile, basins, production, cost/return and yield analyses, etc. *Downstream: positioning and competitiveness across the full value chain, alignment with marketing and distribution strategy, capacity utilisation, risk profile, cost/return and capital allocation analyses, etc. *PetChem: value chain proposition, commodity vs. specialty market exposures, market share and global reach, key performance indicators and cyclicality analyses, etc.
Market Intelligence: Compile and interpreter benchmark analyses enabling client management to compare client’s asset portfolio vs. its peers / market trends - Maintain a current knowledge of industry and market trends, opportunistic situations, strategic orientation of key competitors and understand threats, issues that client may be facing in its operations.
Asset Portfolio Management: Coordinate with internal peers and departments to develop portfolio assessment / management tools and key performance indicators highlighting strategic directions for each asset category.
Scenario and Sensitivity Analyses: Provide input and feedback in scenario and sensitivity analyses run on client’s asset portfolio.
Business Development, M&A, Divestment and Optimization Initiatives: - Provide support and assistance to other relevant departments in implementing investment, divestment or other asset portfolio optimisation action aiming at enhancing client’s asset portfolio.
Experience of working directly with a major Operator
Middle East/Gulf experience
Minimum 15 years work experience in Oil & Gas industry within reputed NOCs / IOCs of which 10 years directly in business development, evaluations, M&As and negotiations.
Excellent knowledge of upstream and downstream complexities including risks, markets, commercials, financials and economics.
Excellent negotiation skills, diplomacy and general management profile with high degree of integrity, confidence and independence. •
Strong leadership, organizational abilities, communications skills and multicultural team spirits.
Excellent English language (written & verbal) is a must
Arabic is a plus.
Bachelor/Masters in Engineering, preferably in Petroleum or Chemical.
MBA is a plus
