Crowne Plaza London Battersea located outside of the London Congestion Zone but also easily accessible with just a 10 minute walk to Clapham Junction or a 2 minute bus ride. We are a luxury hotel with 78 guest rooms, 6 suites and 7 meeting rooms. We're spoilt for views from Our Terrace bar which overlooks the Thames and London Heliport

The Role:
To provide administrative and service support to the sales & meetings team, responding to inquiries in a timely and efficient manner. Provide follow up in an effort to convert inquiries to confirmed business, and attend to the delivery of clients' requests of their event or corporate requirements.

Key Job Responsibilities
Provide administrative support to Sales & Meetings teams.

• Actively promote base hotel (and other InterContinental Hotels) in order to generate business with both new and existing clients.

• Ensure the enquiry call process supports IHG operational service delivery standards.

• Convert conference & event inquiries and leads into bookings (includes weddings, business meetings, conferences) via the phone, in person or by letter.

• Data mine to establish new LNR/KNR opportunities.

• Pro - active, targeted calls to establish leads and convert business.

• Attend networking events to build profile of the Hotel in target market.

• Account Management of selected LNR/KNR accounts.

• Regular competitor visits to target new business opportunities.

• Attend Travel/Industry shows to represent Hotel.

• Meet with potential clients to discuss corporate requirements, event, facilities, room lay-out & menus.

• Record and process using computer system bookings, cancellations and amendments via phone, fax or email promptly and in line with company standards.

• Liaise with and communicate special requirements to other departments.

• Prepare reports using both computerized reservation system and other computer software such as Word and Excel.

• Sell the IHG products and services using up-selling and suggestive selling techniques.

• To be aware of competitor pricing, understand the dynamics of the local market and the demand generators, and the effect it has on profit.

• To follow yielding policies for optimizing meeting space with F&B, Sales & Revenue Management.

• To implement any conference or promotional offer within the conference/meeting/events market in line with hotel strategy.

• To participate in telesales campaigns.

• Show willingness to take on additional responsibilities when necessary.

<br><br> Requirements include
· experience within a similar position within a hotel of similar size and complexity
· excellent communication, organisational and decision-making skills, personal presentation
· experience of working with sales reservation systems an advantage.

All applicants must be able to work varying shifts including night, weekends and bank holidays.

You must meet the legal requirements to work in the UK.
