Job Summary

There is one position available that will be filled at either the Engineer II or Engineer III level commensurate with the selected candidates skills and abilities.

Dominion Energy Gas Transmission Inc. has an exciting Engineer II or Engineer III position available in our new White Oaks facility in Bridgeport, WV.

As our Design & Construction Engineer II or III, you will develop, manage, design, analyze, evaluate and recommend facility plans/proposals for natural gas transmission and storage facilities by applying engineering theories, principles, and practices along with project management skills that contribute to efficient safe, reliable and profitable facilities. The modification or new green-field construction of these facilities (installation of pipelines; design, modify, and build Measurement & Regulation Stations or Compressor Stations) will be larger FERC 7c projects and will require extensive collaboration with many stake holders within Dominion Energy to develop, review, and construct.

Engineer II & Engineer III Duties and Responsibilities:

+ Execute all duties and responsibilities in a safe manner while ensuring compliance with codes, laws and company policies.

+ Collaborate with other internal and external stakeholders to develop conceptual plans, preliminary schedules, accurate cost estimates, and agreements for proposed new facilities or modifications of existing facilities.

+ Provide leadership and accountability inclusive of project management, engineering, and construction support for large FERC 7c capital projects (installation of pipelines; design, modify, and build Measurement & Regulation Stations or Compressor Stations) from conceptual stage through successful start-up of facilities, with oversight of outside consultants or contractors; responsible for adherence to budgets and schedules.

+ Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop timely, complete, and detailed designs for large FERC 7c projects (installation of pipelines; design, modify, and build Measurement & Regulation Stations or Compressor Stations).

+ Develop and maintain specifications for materials/equipment.

+ Prepare requisitions for materials & equipment, design services, and construction services; evaluate proposals/bids.

+ Administer/manage service agreements, design contracts, and construction contracts.

+ Coordinate with Dominion Energys Environmental group to obtain permit applications and environmental clearances required for capital projects.

+ Ensure accuracy of as-built information for assigned projects.

Engineer III incumbents are expected to provide technical expertise and/or team leadership, apply intensive and diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices to large FERC 7c projects and will serve as a technical expert on engineering related legal and regulatory issues to outside entities.

This position is in Bridgeport, WV. Relocation assistance can be offered to the successful eligible candidate.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

Engineer II or Engineer III you must demonstrate via resume or cover letter that you have met the Required Basic Qualifications:

+ Bachelors degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited or ABET recognized Engineering program See Education Requirements below.

+ At least a minimum three (3) years relevant engineering design and construction experience.

+ Valid driver's license.

Additional Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

+ Ability to independently manage and design all aspects of large, complex projects

+ Ability to perform effectively in a high pace, multi-task environment; and ability to independently plan and organize work schedule

+ Ability to communicate effectively and develop rapport with internal and external customers

+ Ability to operate a personal computer including the ability to utilize computer & engineering software applications

+ Ability to make recommendations and decisions

Engineer III:

+ Minimum seven (7) years relevant engineering design and construction experience, with at least four (4) years natural gas engineering experience.

+ Extensive project management and scheduling skills

+ Knowledge of PHMSA/DOT Pipeline Safety Regulations and related codes/standards

Preferred Skills:

Engineer II and III:

+ Civil or Mechanical Engineering Degree;

+ Experience in the natural gas industry; Knowledge of PHMSA/DOT Pipeline Safety Regulations (49 CFR Part 192) and related codes/standards

+ Engineer-in-Training certificate or PE license

+ Project Management and scheduling skills

•An Engineer III will require greater work experience, as mentioned above.

For placement of a candidate in the Engineer job series, the following criteria must be met: Possess a 4-year engineering degree from an ABET accredited engineering program based on the year that the engineering program was accredited by ABET, or Possess a 4-year engineering degree from an institution outside of the U.S. which is accredited through the country's own engineering accrediting body under the Washington Accord as a full signatory, and is a degree that was recognized by the country's accrediting body on or after the date that full signatory status was achieved, or Possess a 4-year engineering degree from a non-ABET accredited program and a post-graduate engineering degree from an institution where the undergraduate degree in the same engineering discipline is ABET accredited based on the year the engineering program was accredited by ABET, or Possess a 4-year degree in Physics, Chemistry or Math and a post-graduate engineering degree from an institution where the undergraduate degree in the same engineering discipline is ABET accredited based on the year the engineering program was accredited by ABET, or Holds or has previously held a valid U.S. Professional Engineer license.
